Free Family Course on Mental Illnesses Offered in Duluth
Area residents who have a family member living with a mental illness have an opportunity to learn more about mental health issues and how to provide support. The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Minnesota is holding a 12-week course in Duluth this fall that aims to give families a better understanding of mental illness by discussing communication techniques, stress reducers and potential resources that can mitigate problems that stem from mental health problems.
The course begins Sept. 7 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation Church of Duluth and will run for 12 consecutive Sundays. All of the instructors have had first-hand experience dealing with mental illness in their families.
