FRANKLIN T. LUNKA, SR.
Franklin T. Lunka, Sr. passed away July 19, 2014, in Seattle, at the age of 86.
Frank was born December 17, 1927 in Hibbing, Minn. He was a resident of the Pacific Northwest for 47 years after moving from Minnesota, and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1992.
Frank leaves behind many happy memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frank was a man who loved polka music, dancing, carpentry, gardening, and helping his children with projects.
Frank was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth and great-grandson Trevor Joseph Wiley.
Frank is survived by his children Susan Lunka (Jack Poltz) of Auburn, Kathleen Rivera (Nandy) of Bonney Lake, Nancy Schwehm (Richard) of Kent, Marilyn Timlick of Auburn, and Franklin (Ted), Jr. (Connie) of Federal Way; his brother Fred Lunka and sister Betty Ann Aanes of Hibbing, Minn.; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass Tuesday, July 29, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (327 2nd Ave. S., Kent WA 98032). Military honors and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th Street, Kent WA 98042).
