Fox News anchor arrested at Twin Cities airport
Arrested at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport early Wednesday afternoon for refusing to cooperate with police, Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett was released from jail Thursday morning.
Jarrett, 59, appeared intoxicated and refused to follow police officers’ instructions before he was arrested about 12:30 p.m. in the Northern Lights Grill, according to airport authorities.
Jarrett was booked on a preliminary charge of obstructing the legal process. He posted a $300 bond and was released from Hennepin County Jail early Thursday, jail records show.
"He is dealing with serious personal issues at this time," a statement from Fox News said. "A date at which Gregg might return to air has yet to be determined."
Jarrett’s arraignment is set for June 6 at Southdale Suburban Court in Edina.
Off the air since mid-April, Jarrett is a weekend co-anchor on the Fox News Channel specializing in legal reporting. He earned a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
He recently covered the murder trial of George Zimmerman and the crash of Asiana Flight 214 at the San Francisco Airport.
Jarrett has been with Fox News since 2002.
