Four Hibbing students face drug charges
Four Hibbing High School students were taken into custody Tuesday on narcotics charges, the Hibbing Police Department announced.
The arrests came as a result of an investigation by the Boundary Waters Drug Task Force and Hibbing Police Department, in cooperation with the Hibbing school district.
The suspects were three 18-year-old males and a 17-year-old male. Three were taken into custody at the school; the other was arrested on the 3900 block of First Avenue in Hibbing. The News Tribune generally does not release the names of suspects until they have been formally charged.
The three adults are being held at the St. Louis County Jail in Hibbing; the juvenile was released to a parent. Police said all four suspects were cooperative.
Police are recommending a charge of fifth-degree possession of controlled substance against one 18-year-old, and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance charges against the other three suspects.
