Feds propose minimum crew sizes on oil trains

The Federal Railroad Administration is proposing a rule requiring two-person train crews on crude oil trains and minimum crew size standards for most freight and passenger trains, the agency announced Wednesday.

Current FRA regulations do not require minimum crew sizes, but industry practice uses two-person crews for over-the-road operations, the FRA said in a news release.
