Faces & Names: Cyrus tour heading to primetime TV
Miley Cyrus has filled arenas across the globe since her “Bangerz Tour” started in February. Now she’s taking it a step further — by beaming her performances straight into fans’ homes.
On Thursday, NBC announced “Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour,” a two-hour documentary special featuring backstage and performance footage from upcoming concerts at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain, and the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.
The network promises the behind-the-scenes event will, among other things, “examine what makes (Cyrus) such a global phenomenon.”
Her world tour comes on the heels of last year’s platinum-certified “Bangerz” album, which featured the Billboard chart-topping “Wrecking Ball.”
“There are few recording artists with the global success achieved by Miley Cyrus,” said NBC executive Paul Telegdy. “This unique special will offer an exclusive peek on how she engages with her crew and fans at one of her hugely popular concerts.”
