Comedy Central is getting into the streaming business in a big way.

Aware that its youth-skewing audience consumes much of its television content on the Internet, the New York-based network spent significant time designing a new app that hit iTunes on Tuesday morning. For now, it is available only on iPad and iPhone.

For all users, the app will host next-day episodes of “The Daily Show,” “Colbert Report” and “@Midnight,” updated on a nightly basis, as well as bonus content and advanced episodes of new series such as “Trip Tank” and returning series like “Inside Amy Schumer.”

For those with a cable or satellite log-in — HBOGo-style — the app will also host over 200 episodes of other series, like the new hit “Broad City” and classics like “Chapelle’s Show.”
