Her image of a solitary canoeist on the North Kawishiwi River in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness will be part of the museum's "Wilderness Forever" exhibit opening Sept. 3. The images were chosen from more than 5,000 in a yearlong photo competition, according to the museum.

"I'm very honored, not only that one of my images was chosen but because it's from Minnesota's beloved Boundary Waters," LaPointe said.

LaPointe and her husband, Gary Fiedler, operate the Radiant Spirit Gallery, online at radiantspiritgallery.com. Prints are available at Duluth Pack and the Frame Corner Gallery in Duluth.
