Eh?: Octogenarian eatery
Valentini’s Italian restaurant is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
Much of the food Valentini’s has been known for was crafted by the family matriarch, Justina Valentini, who opened the Chisholm restaurant’s doors on July 14, 1934, according to a statement put out by the restaurants.
Throughout the past 80 years, three generations of family members have taken the reins at Valentini’s and further diversified the business. Paul Marturano and co-owner Rob Russo operate Valentini’s Supper Club in Chisholm, and Carol and Mia Valentini operate Valentini’s Vicino Lago in Duluth.
To commemorate the restaurant’s milestone, both Valentini’s establishments will be honoring their 80th year.
The anniversary will be celebrated from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 29, with some deals for
Valentini’s signature Ravioli and Mega Meatball will be offered as a buy one, get one for 80 cents, along with a drawing for an $80 gift certificate at each location. There also will be 80 cents dessert, beer and wine specials available.
