Duluth man arrested on meth charges
Duluth Police say they’ve again arrested a familiar face on drug charges.
Austin John Overfors, 20, of Duluth, was taken into custody late Wednesday after police said marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in his car.
An officer was patrolling the 6300 block of Brighton Beach Road after 11 p.m. when he observed a suspicious vehicle. The driver was identified as Overfors, and drugs were located during a search of the car, according to a police department news release.
Overfors was arrested on four St. Louis County warrants and for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles and driving after revocation.
Overfors has frequently been on the department’s radar — he was named the Property Crimes Wanted Person of the Week in June and was later arrested on warrants. He was also charged with third-degree sale of a controlled substance during “Operation Exile,” a statewide crackdown on heroin this spring.
