Duluth man accused of vehicle tampering

A Duluth man was arrested for allegedly tampering with vehicles on Tuesday.

While on patrol, a Duluth police officer noticed a suspicious male on 59th Avenue West and Grand Avenue about 12:04 a.m. The officer witnessed Michael John Monchamp, 22, of Duluth trying to gain access to two different cars.

The officer then stopped Monchamp and took him into custody. Monchamp was taken to the Saint Louis County Jail for two counts of motor vehicle tampering.

It was confirmed by the owners of the vehicles that the cars did not belong to the suspect.
