Duluth driver survives car crash into tree, power pole in Hermantown
A 27-year-old Duluth man escaped serious injury when his car ran off Haines Road, striking a power pole and then a tree in Hermantown, Monday. The man was treated at the scene and refused further medical treatment. Witnesses told Hermantown Police that the car ran through multiple yards on the 3900 block of Haines Road before ultimately striking the tree, and knocking the engine from the car, according to a police statement.
Alcohol was not a factor, police said, though fatigue may have played a role in the accident. The Hermantown Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the scene.
