Duluth dentist accused of drunken driving appears in Carlton County District Court
A Duluth dentist accused of driving drunk and hitting a parked Minnesota State Patrol trooper in August appeared in Carlton County District Court Wednesday to schedule a settlement conference.
Timothy Robert Langguth, 61, was set to have an omnibus hearing, where he could have contested any evidence brought against him. Instead, attorneys asked for a date to hold a settlement conference, which was scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 9.
Langguth reportedly drove his 1998 Subaru Legacy into Trooper Erick Sjodin's 2006 Chevrolet Impala squad car on the passenger side about
12:25 a.m. Aug. 22 in the median of Interstate 35 near the Moorhead
overpass in Cloquet.
Both vehicles were total losses and both men suffered severe injuries. Langguth is recovering from his injuries and appeared in court using a cane. Sjodin recently has returned to full duty as a trooper, according to Carlton County attorneys.
