Dorothy May Wotczak

Dorothy May Wotczak, 102, of Duluth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on July 26, 2014, at St. Eligius Health Center, Duluth.

Dorothy was born in Cheboygan, Mich., to Oscar and Myrtle Anderson on Dec. 7, 1911.

The family moved to Duluth when she was a small child. Dorothy was united in marriage to John Wotczak on June 6, 1942. They were married for 44 years.

Dorothy enjoyed cards, games and bingo; she crocheted many lovely afghans, and traveled whenever she could. Throughout her life she was involved in PTA, Wheeler Women’s Club, was a league bowler, a member of TOPS and a lifetime member of Elim Lutheran Church, being active in their Fellowship Club. She loved family gatherings and being with her many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John (1986); her parents; brothers, Don and Claude; sisters, Leona and June; sister-in-law, Theresa; and son-in-law, Ed Lincowski.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Linda Lincowski (Steve Seliga), and son, Jerry (Vicky) Wotczak; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Lund and Florence Strom; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the caring staff at St. Eligius Health Center for the wonderful care Dorothy received over the past two years.

Gathering of Family and Friends: 10 a.m. visitation on Thursday, July 31, with memorial service at 11 a.m. in Elim Lutheran Church, 6101 Cody Street, Duluth.
