Donald E. Ketchum, 88, of Carlton, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton.

He was born July 31, 1926 in St. Paul, to Charles and Elva (Fogarty) Ketchum.

Don served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to Carol Jeanne Frohrip on Aug. 18, 1951 in Moose Lake. Don worked as a plumber and maintenance worker for Conwed and USG for 35 years retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton; Carlton Lions Club; and the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 262 of Carlton.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Charles, Ray, James, Ken, Richard, and Paul Ketchum; and one sister, Rose McKeller.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son, Ralph (Donna) Ketchum; daughters, Dawn (Duane) Soukkala, Pamela (Greg) Kosmerl, Sandra (Dean) Wallin; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 in Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 also in Bethesda Lutheran Church with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Military Honors will be presented by the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 262, followed with a luncheon in the church social hall.
