Do it: Brule by summer
Almost any time of year is a good time to paddle Wisconsin’s upper Brule River, say from Stone’s Bridge to the Winneboujou Landing. It’s about a four-hour paddle if you don’t dawdle. But dawdle long enough to watch a kingfisher swoop, or appreciate the forget-me-nots growing at river’s edge or the springs bubbling into Big Lake. Need a canoe or a shuttle? Google it, and you’ll find all you need.
