Diane Hazel Hansen, 82, of Brookston died Sunday, March 30, 2014 in her home.

She was born March 19, 1932 to Asa and Dina Reed in Duluth.

She grew up in Culver and graduated from Alborn High School. After high school, Diane worked and studied drawing. Her dream was to design womens clothing. Her dream changed when she met Lawrence Hansen. They were married on June 30, 1956.

Diane continued to draw but expanded her artistic ability to gardening, painting, and doing various activities that showcased her creativity. She often donated her time and energy in many different community projects.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Tester Niemi Post 562 Legion Auxiliary. Diane also loved making jam and donuts with her children and grandchildren.

Sadly, Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her siblings; her parents, and many close friends.

She is survived by her five daughters, Robin (Leon Sulerud) Hansen of Duluth, Susan (Michael) Smith of Brookston, Aprilette (Randy) Paulson of Saginaw, Brenda (Scott Kuhlman) Hansen of Brookston, and Gayle (Brody) Hennager of Culver; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brooke Manor for the love and care they gave their mom.
