Delores Deanne Blair, 77, of Duluth put up a tenacious battle against diabetes, heart disease and lung cancer until April 22, 2014.

She was born to Arlene and Lloyd Hill on April 3, 1937 and lived in Duluth all her life, always enjoying the activity passing under the bridge.

She is preceded in death by her parents; step-father Leslie Miles; brother Bernie Hill; son-in-law Gary Morse; ex-husband James E. Blair, and brother-in-law John Anderson.

She is survived by sisters Sue Anderson of Duluth, and Patricia Sarkilahti of St. Paul; lifelong friend Esther "Babe" Ruuskanen; and children Ross (Jackie) Blair of Seattle, Wash., Cheryl Sowl of Bloomington, Minn., James W. (Michele) Blair of Selma, Texas, Kathy (Jerry) King of Duluth, and Scott (Debbie) Blair of Boerne, Texas. Her legacy of intelligence, humor and independence live on in grandchildren Derek Sowl, Cori (Brian) Reynolds, Joseph (Laura) Morse, Robbie Sowl, Christopher Blair, James King, Amanda Blair, Allison Blair, Allen Blair, and Jennifer (Jacob) Markovitz and great-grandchildren Milo, Thorson, Elliot, and Mariana.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Benedictine Health Center and St. Marys Hospice team for their skilled and compassionate care.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services and her body was donated to the University of Minnesota for medical research.
