Cloquet woman arrested in Duluth burglary
A 29-year-old Cloquet woman was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary Monday.
Sommer Thompson was arrested by Duluth police after a resident on the 400 block of North 15th Avenue East called to report seeing Thompson and a male coming in and out of her porch shortly after midnight Monday. Both had flashlights and were seen going onto another porch, police said in a press release.
Just prior to officers’ arrival, Thompson and the other suspect were seen leaving the scene on bicycles. They headed south into a wooded area near a creek, where Thompson was arrested. The male suspect was not located. Thompson had several stolen items, and was charged with first and second-degree burglary. She has a history of both felony and misdemeanor theft convictions, dating back to 2007. Thompson was taken into custody and transported to St. Louis County Jail.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Property Crimes at (218) 730-5160.
“This was another example of a resident that took note of what was happening, not only at her house, but continued watching the suspects and gave valuable information to 911,” said police spokesman Jim Hansen.
