* As part of a 1992 lawsuit, Murphy Oil USA Inc. must pay $500,000 to the state of Wisconsin and spend another $25 million to improve pollution-control equipment at its Superior oil refinery. The settlement was approved yesterday in Douglas County Court.

* The Duluth School Board has developed a plan to spend $100 million on the renovation of more than

30 buildings over the next 10 years. A majority of the work would be done to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
