The Duluth City Council is expected to give first reading tonight of an ordinance authorizing the sale of $2 million in general obligation bonds to support construction of an Arena-Auditorium annex and an enclosed ramp connecting it with the downtown.

A new recycling service that picks up paper and cans at homes on request began in Duluth about three weeks ago. Friends Saving America Inc., which collects materials free of charge, will expand in the next month to collect glass.
News Tribune, March 11, 1994 Three men were arrested in Wisconsin yesterday in connection with a Bigfork bank robbery and the theft of four getaway vehicles earlier this week. The men are accused of robbing the First State Bank of Bigfork of an undisclosed amount of cash. UMD's Ken Foxworth was a little sore yesterday as he neared the 100-mile mark of his "Run for Excellence" from St. Paul to Duluth. Foxworth expects to reach Nickerson this afternoon, leaving only 29 miles to reach Duluth City Hall.
