Federal District Judge Miles Lord yesterday ordered Reserve Mining Co. to present a plan for on-land disposal of taconite tailings by March 15. Lord's ruling followed testimony from Reserve witnesses that such a plan exists.

The retirement of Guy H.M. Warren, veteran Duluth school principal, at the close of the school year was approved yesterday by the Duluth School Board. Warren, who began as a teacher in 1933, has worked in Duluth schools for 41 years.

It was the first double-overtime championship game in tournament history. Lakeshore Lutheran Home in Duluth is launching a $500,000 capital campaign to renovate its building to expand services. The campaign will pay for a unit for people with short-term health care needs and a unit for residents with dementia-related diagnoses.
