  • Superior police officers yesterday peacefully removed about 20 angry young people from the Thoroughfare Teen Center. The youths were picketing the center to protest the firing of center supervisors Mrs. Susan Morrow and Miss Susan Bulck.

  • A new $140,000 microscope system was unveiled yesterday at the National Water Quality Laboratory in Duluth. The equipment can enlarge an item up to 800,000 times its normal size and analyze what material it consists of.

    • Pellet production that had been scheduled to start yesterday at Keewatin’s National Steel Pellet Co. was delayed when not enough skilled workers were present to prepare the equipment. The plant had been closed for about a year because of contract issues.
