Morris (5-1, 3 KOs), a welterweight nicknamed the “Hope of the Hillside,” landed some big shots and boxed well in spurts but got lured into Tovar’s brawling style in what was an entertaining bout for the fans. Tovar (4-1, 3 KOs), of Waukesha, Wis., was the busier boxer in the middle rounds, helping him earn the judges’ decision, 59-55, 58-56 and 57-57.

In other bouts, Corey Rodriguez earned a unanimous win over Brandon Quarles and Ismail Muwendo stayed unbeaten with a victory over Robbie Cannon.

Duarn Vue, Dalton Outlaw and Ramiro Hernandez were Saturday’s other winners.
