The chroniclers of Minneapolis’s yesteryear are touring in support of its new album, which is billed by critics as

another, perhaps heavier, notch in the r ‘n‘ r scene.

The Hold Steady, which has its roots in the metro, play Sunday at Clyde Iron Works. Cheap Girls open.

“Teeth Dream” is the first album in four years for The Hold Steady, which added guitar player Steve Selvidge to the lineup and pushed for a bigger balance between Craig Finn’s narrative lyrics and the band’s bar rock sound.

Cheap Girls is a rock band that emerged in the mid-2000s. The Michigan-based trio, which has been likened to The Replacements, released the album “Famous Graves” earlier this year.
