Best Bets: DSSO performs ‘Musical Postcards’

Movie fans will recognize much of the program for Saturday’s Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra concert. Expect to hear music from popular flicks ranging from “The Sound of Music” to “E.T.”

There will also be music from “Miss Saigon,” “Danse Bacchanale,” from “Samson & Delilah” and “Dead Man’s Chest” from “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

The concert, with a theme of musical postcards from around the world, will include the Bryce Craig, the winner of the DSSO’s James and Paula Nelson Young Composers Competition and Alia Gribbon, a senior at Denfeld High School who won the DSSO’s Young Artist Competition.
