There are two opportunities this week to mix classical arts and beer:

The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra is hosting the cutely named Beerthoven, an event with local craft beers and symphonic accompaniment — or vice versa.

The event at 7 p.m. Friday at Great Lakes Aquarium. Early birds get a dose of gin and jazz.

On Saturday, emerging artists from Lyric Opera of the North will host Opera By the Pint. There will be scenes from celebrated opera works in a drink-friendly atmosphere. Suds & Songs is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
