The bluegrass-ish band has been featured at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, South By Southwest and more. The foursome includes Adam Kinghorn on guitar, Joe Lessard on violin, Matt Loewen on upright bass and Mike Chappell on acoustic and electric mandolin. All but Chappell also sing.
The band’s most recent album, “Blue Ruin,” was released in 2013 and landed on the CMJ Top 200.
DAI accepting submissions
The Duluth Art Institute is now accepting submissions for the 60th Arrowhead Regional Biennial, a juried art show featuring work by artists from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Michigan and Ontario.
Diane Mullin, senior curator at the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota, is juror for the show.
Pieces must have been created in the past two years. Submissions will be accepted until July 15.
Prizes will be awarded at the opening. First place gets $1,000, second gets $500 and third gets $250.
