A motor vehicle accident in Two Harbors involving six people left five of them injured Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Jacob Hertel, 38, of Lester Prairie, Minn., and David Hansen, 20, of Lutsen were driving their vehicles north on Highway 61 at 12:48 p.m. Hertel was waiting to turn left onto County Road 3 when Hansen rear-ended Hertel’s 2011 Ford Explorer with his semi at highway speeds.

Jacob Hertel, Angela Hertel, 37, of Lester Prairie, and three children were in the Ford Explorer, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Hansen had no apparent injuries.
