14-year-old boy injured in ATV accident on Iron Range
A 14-year-old Rogers, Minn., boy was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday morning near Eveleth.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office reported that Anthony Muhich was following his father on a trail near U.S. Highway 53 and Thunderbird Trail in Fayal Township at about 10:30 a.m. when the ATV he was operating apparently left the path and tipped over a ledge. The machine went airborne, and Muhich toppled to the bottom of a small hill. He sustained injuries to his left shoulder, arm and leg. Muhich was wearing a helmet.
Muhich was transported by Virginia Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The accident remains under investigation, the sheriff’s office reported.
