Lincoln Park's Bent Paddle eyes taproom move

Schematics in city planning documents show the building at 1832 W. Michigan St., which has housed Bent Paddle's offices since June 2016, with a new partly covered patio and signage along 19th Avenue West.

Bent Paddle Brewing Co. wants to move its taproom — down the block.

The Lincoln Park brewery has submitted a request to Duluth's Alcohol, Gambling and Tobacco Commission to move its liquor licenses from 1912 W. Michigan St. to 1832 W. Michigan St.

The move would open up more space for brewery operations at the former building and join the taproom with the company's offices at the latter. It would also seem to match schematics submitted to the city planning commission this summer that show the 1832 building with new signage and a patio.

The liquor license transfer application, to be considered by the commission Wednesday, notes the "ground floor/patio" will be the serving areas.

The brewery did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Bent Paddle moved its offices into 1832 W. Michigan St. in 2016. Earlier this year, the brewery purchased its 1912 W. Michigan St. location.
