Dunkin’ Donuts to open seven restaurants in Duluth area

Seven Dunkin’ Donuts stores will open in the Duluth area beginning in the spring of 2015, the chain announced today.

The franchisees are Brian and Sharon Weidendorf, of Hinckley.

The only other Dunkin’ Donuts in Minnesota is in the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, which recently opened. Five others are planned for the Rochester area over the next several years. The company is seeking to expand throughout the state.

Dunkin’ Donuts was founded in 1950 and has nearly 11,000 restaurants in 33 countries. The company is based in Canton, Mass.
