Best Bets: A weekend of acoustic music
A buzzed-about flatpicker and her band are one of the highlights of a weekend long acoustic music festival at the Inn on Lake Superior.
Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run, musicians based in Nashville, are one of a dozen acts that will perform during the Cabin Fever Festival, a product of the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old Time Music Association. Frazer’s album “When We Fall,” her first on a major label, was released in May 2013 and it landed at No. 16 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Album Chart, alongside Punch Brothers and Gibson Brothers.
Rebecca Frazier and Hit & Run perform at 8:50 p.m. Saturday.
Other acts include The Platte Valley Boys, The Fish Heads, Big Juke, Thirsty River, Singleton Street, Timbre Junction, The Seldom Herd, Sloughgrass, The Biscuit Boys and Sawtooth Bluegrass.
The weekend also includes workshops, a draw band competition and impromptu jam seshes.
The festival starts at 7 p.m. Friday and runs from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Go to minnesotabluegrass.org for a complete schedule.
