Most of the newly planted trees in the 700 block of North 21st Street in Superior were snapped in half by vandals last week. Mary Morgan, the city’s parks, recreation and forestry director, said she will send the city arborist to the area, but said she believes the trees will have to be replaced. The trees were planted this year to replace ash trees taken down in response to an infestation of emerald ash borer in the city. (Jed Carlson / jcarlson@superiortelegram.com)
