Penokee: Explore the Iron Hills

The exhibit includes works by 20 artists exploring their relationship to the ancient Penokee Mountain Range of Northern Wisconsin, exhibits about metallic mining history, natural history, geology, and cultural and Native American perspectives. A recent proposal to mine iron in the Penokees stimulated discussion and controversary, bringing statewide attention to this beautiful corner of the state. Opening reception: Saturday, June 23, 2012, 1 to 3 p.m. Speakers, music, poetry.
