As foundation funds dwindle, Zeitgeist seeks community support

After serving with the Marines in Afghanistan, Matthew Raimer returned home to Hayward last winter for the holiday season. He died sometime on New Year’s Day of exposure after being dropped off near his home by a bar’s “sober bus” and apparently losing his way. Speaking publicly for the first time about the tragedy, his parents, Daniel and Lesa Raimer, are calling for policies to make sure passengers using such services really do get home safely.
